Manormead Supported Housing Scheme

The Board's showpiece Manormead Supported Housing Scheme at Hindhead near Haslemere in Surrey was officially opened by the Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Revd Dr Rowan Williams, on 25 February 2008 at a special ceremony that was also attended by the Bishop of Guildford, Rt Revd Christopher Hill.

Manormead offers superb accommodation for retired Church of England clergy, their spouses, and clergy widows and widowers. The new building comprises 28 individual flats, a chapel, library, communal lounge and dining room, with a Manager and dedicated team of staff to ensure that the needs and welfare of all the residents are met at all times; combining support, including overnight emergency cover, with independent living.

Lunch is provided everyday in the communal dining room, while residents can prepare other meals in their flat, which has a fully fitted kitchen and generous living space. Located within beautiful gardens and fully equipped for the disabled, Manormead is a thriving Christian community, with regular worship, stimulating conversation and activities, all within the comfort of an airy, modern, purpose-built Scheme.
