Duty of the Commission

The Commission is established under Part II of the Dioceses, Pastoral and Mission Measure 2007. Details of the legislation and guidance about its implementation can be found here.

When carrying out its duty of review, the Commission has a duty to disseminate information about good practice in diocesan administration.and further information about this can be found here.
Suffragan Sees and Episcopal Oversight
The Commission also has responsibilities in relation to the creation and filling of suffragan sees and it is entitled to be consulted about any proposal to change the name of an episcopal see. Further information about this can be found here.
