What is the Report of Proceedings?

The Report of Proceedings is the official transcript of the proceedings of the General Synod of the Church of England, and is produced after every Group of Sessions.   Following a review of the publication arrangements by the Business Committee in May of 2009, the Report will now be published exclusively as an online electronic document in the PDF file format, an industry standard for web publication.  The 'Useful Links' column on the right hand side of the page will guide you to the Groups of Sessions, arranged by date.

How can I view the files?

To view or print the Report of Proceedings you will need version 4.0 or above of Adobe Acrobat Reader, which can be downloaded free of charge.  Follow this link to download Adobe Acrobat Reader or click on the image. If you have an earlier version of Adobe Reader on your machine, we recommend that you uninstall it before you begin to install your new version.

To get the best quality when using these PDF files, save them to your hard disk. In order to save the files to your hard drive (on a PC), right-click on the download link and choose 'save target as' (if using Internet Explorer) or 'save link as' (if using Netscape).

Even the largest of the downloads should take less than ten minutes to complete on an average 56kbps modem.
