Diocesan staff
Most dioceses have a children’s adviser who will provide help and advice on anything to do with a parish’s ministry among children. These will include:
Visit your diocesan website or handbook for the name of your local Adviser.
Two dioceses, Canterbury and Chester, have designated children’s evangelists: They will advise on matters specifically concerning outreach among children. Contact via your diocesan website.
Diocesan Missioners
They may be called Missioners, Evangelists, or Parish Development officers according to the focus of their brief. They help the whole Church to fulfil its mission and to share its faith. Some of them include children’s evangelism in their responsibilities and work closely with the Diocesan Children’s Adviser.
Visit your diocesan website or email paul.bayes@c-of-e.org.uk for local contact details.
Church Army
Church Army officers hold a variety of posts in dioceses and parishes. They are trained evangelists and some of them specialise in work with children and young people.

Fresh Expressions
Discerning and exploring the many ways that children are being church is an integral element in the Fresh Expressions initiative of the Church of England and the Methodist Church that the Archbishop of Canterbury launched in 2004. It offers training, resources and has opportunities to register information about ways that people are being church on its website.
Two of the classifications are 'Focus on children' and 'Young Children and their parents'. On 27th February 2006, 68 (17%) of the 400 fresh expressions registered on its website are classified 'Children’s Fresh Expressions' with a further 25% including children or young people.
