National Car Loan Scheme

We operate a national scheme of car loans for all serving clergy, deaconesses and licensed lay workers paid through this office. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer loans to retired clergy. The maximum loan is currently £10,115 and interest is charged at 5% p.a.

Repayments (normally over 4 years) will be deducted at source from stipend.

An application form is available from the resources menu on the left hand side of this page. If you wish, you may complete the application form on screen but upon completion you will need to take a print, sign it and forward it to your diocesan / chapter office. Please note that each diocese has an arrangement for countersignature and, in some cases, this may be carried out at your diocesan office or by your Archdeacon. If in doubt please contact your diocesan office before returning the application form.

Provided there are no queries with the completed form, upon countersignature it will be forwarded to us to administer and a BACS credit (or cheque payment) will be arranged as soon as possible. If you have made arrangements to collect your vehicle please contact us to discuss when the funds will be available to be released. In cases of extreme urgency please contact your diocesan office as they may be able to help.
