National Car Loan Scheme: The Vehicle

Vehicles should be within four years of age. All applications for secondhand vehicles must be supported by a Vehicle History Inspection Certificate (often referred to as an HPI check). These can either be obtained directly from the dealer or from:

AA
RAC
HPI
The Environmental Transport Association

A report should cost in the region of £30-£40. If necessary, this cost may be included in the loan application.

Applications for vehicles over 4 years of age will be considered but these must be supported with a report from an independent engineer. Please note that loans for vehicles over 4 years of age are usually agreed subject to a reduced term.
