The Clergy Payments Department is a function of the Church Commissioners and, although not the employers of the clergy, the Department is responsible for paying a stipend to most clergy, deaconesses and licensed layworkers in parochial or diocesan appointments, and for making pension payments on behalf of the Pensions Board. Our pages on this web site are relevant for those paid through our payroll and their agents.
