Responsibility for the payment in full of approved parochial expenses which you incur in your ministry falls to your parochial church council. These include such items as: postage, stationery, telephone, secretarial assistance, maintenance of robes, hospitality, locum tenens and travelling. If you are working in a non-parochial appointment, your expenses will be met by an appropriate body (e.g. the diocesan board of finance).
The Archbishops' Council, in its role as Central Stipends Authority (part of the Council's Ministry Division), publishes a booklet "The Parochial Expenses of the Clergy - A guide to their reimbursement". You are strongly urged to read this. The latest edition is available (in PDF format) from the resources listed on the left of the screen.
