The Reverend Janina Ainsworth is the Church of England's Chief Education Officer and General Secretary of the National Society. She is responsible for the public profile of the Church's educational work in the Church and nation, for the strategic direction of the Education Division and National Society and for liaison with Government and ecumenical partners, with Diocesan Directors of Education and the Principals of Church Colleges and Universities. Lifelong Learning team:

Stephen Heap is the National Adviser for Higher Education and Chaplaincy. He provides consultancy, induction, training, conferences, support, liaison and advice for chaplains, dioceses, ecumenical partners, colleges and government/educational agencies. Tel: 020 7898 1513. John Breadon is the Churches' National Adviser in Further Education. He works ecumenically with the Learning and Skills Council, FE colleges and the churches to support post-16 learning, FE chaplaincy and college/community learning partnerships. Tel: 020 7898 1517. Schools Strategy team:

Liz Carter as National School Support Officer administers the legal advice scheme and supports the resourcing of diocesan schools and buildings officers. She ensures that responses are made to Government consultations on school matters in liaison with diocesan education teams. She takes responsibility for Education Sunday. Rob Gwynne is Head of School Development and Deputy Secretary of the National Society. He leads the development of the Church’s statutory education provision (in partnership with relevant Government Departments), continuing the Church’s ambitious expansion programme for secondary schools, particularly through the academies programme. Nick McKemey is Head of School Improvement and Deputy Secretary of the National Society. He leads the drive to improve the quality of education in schools with Diocesan Directors of Education and diocesan advisers. He takes particular responsibility for issues of school leadership training and CPD. He leads on school inspection (Section 48, also called Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools - SIAS) and relations with OFSTED) and promotes the gathering, development and best use of statistics and research. Training and Development team:
