What can I do?

Church of England Bishops have spoken out against a change in the law in the House of Lords. They are part of a wide movement against this Bill, which takes in other Christian groups, people of other faiths and none. You can help in the campaign to prevent any change in the law in a number of ways.

*Write to your MP. Tell your Member of Parliament to ask the Government not to give Lord Joffe's Bill time or support. You can find out who your MP is and how to contact them by visiting www.locata.co.uk/commons or by calling 020 7219 3000.

*Organise a petition. Collect signatures at your Church and send the petition to your MP and local newspapers.

*Spread the word. Write to local and national newspapers to voice your concerns. Organise a meeting at your Church for others to find out more and to discuss the issues in more detail.

The Church of England and other faith groups are members of the Care Not Killing Alliance (see links on resources bar, right).  The Alliance (CNK) are organising a broad-based response to the Joffe Bill and are currently encouraging a public petition and letter writing campaign.  Please consider supporting these CNK initiatives.
