Proportion of Licensed Readers by gender
The above chart shows that there is a similar age profile for men and women. However, the overall proportion of female Readers (48%) has increased over the last twenty years, this is demonstrated clearly in the chart below. There are now three times as many women than there were in 1985, almost equal to the number of men.
