A conference attended by over 400 educationalists from across the country marked five years since the publication of the Dearing Report on Church Schools, following which over 40 new Church Schools have already been founded. The event aimed to set the agenda for the next five years of growth in inclusive schools with a distinctively Anglican ethos. Delegates at the ‘Faith in the Future: Church School Conference’ were addressed by the Archbishop of Canterbury, who stressed the need for fair and transparent admissions criteria, and encouragement for those with a vocation to teach.
